This section will introduce some real-world examples. In Japan, the Iseikai International General Hospital has partnered with the major credit card company JCB to create a medical tourism program. The target market for this initiative is Indonesia, a country whose population is rapidly increasing and is expected to become the fourth-largest economy in the world by 2050. The program offers cutting-edge health screenings in Japan, combined with top-tier hospitality. Reports on this high-end program highlight VIP treatments, including hospital rooms that resemble suites on the top floors, Japanese lunches delivered via room service, and the presence of interpreters and coordinators to remove language barriers. The program also provides advanced medical services such as DWIBS, a high-performance MRI scan, and genomic testing to assess the risk of future cancer development. In addition, specialized medical tourism agents such as Emergency Assistance Japan (EAJ) and One Medical support patients before and after their treatment, offering comprehensive assistance throughout the process. Additionally, there have been news reports of patients who received medical treatment abroad suffering from inadequate procedures or irreversible side effects. In France, there are also agents dedicated to medical tourism. For example, Medifrance Solution offers services ranging from visa assistance to hospital selection and interpreter services. Another key player, International Tourism and Medical Provider (ITMP), founded in 2016, coordinates medical tourism efforts and supports patients through partnerships with hospitals. Some programs even offer second opinions from specialized doctors in France for patients from other countries. The services provided cover a wide range of medical needs. Additionally, many hospitals in France cater specifically to medical tourism. A prime example is the American Hospital of Paris, a private, non-profit medical institution. It blends the finest aspects of both French and American medical practices, providing personalized care to not only French patients but also to Americans and international visitors in search of top-tier healthcare services. As medical tourism continues to grow, it is essential to balance the protection of national healthcare while also promoting responsible medical tourism practices. This includes educating the public about the risks and benefits of receiving treatment abroad and providing guidance for safe and informed decision-making. 18 Examples of Medical Tourism Conclusion
